Cuckmere Community Bus

Cuckmere Buses have a regular stall at the Market, giving out information on their services, as well as offering local people the chance to drive one of the buses to see if they would like to become part one of volunteers who provide this lifeline to local communities.  For some people the Cuckmere Bus is the only way to get around the local area - can you spare some time to help?  Come along to the Farmers' Market and give it a go - you may find it surprisingly rewarding!

  • About us:: There is always a stand at the Market to find out more about becoming a volunteer driver. PCV licences are not required. All you need is a standard driving licence with a D1 classification (all licences prior to 1997 have this classification). Come along, bring along your drivers license with you and take a bus for a trial on the enormous hard-standing market site. Cuckmere Buses is an independent bus based in Berwick, East Sussex. It is run by volunteers. Cuckmere Community Bus was established in 1976 with assistance from East Sussex County Council and Southdown Motor Services to operate services in the Cuckmere Valley region. The service is almost self-supporting but small donations are made annually by most of the parish councils concerned. The company was rebranded as Cuckmere Buses in April 2013.
