Farmers Market

We are looking forward to another busy market day on Saturday 10th September.  We have several new stallholders enabling us to widen the range of goods available:

Carol's Confections will be giving us the opportunity to purchase delicious home-made cakes by the slice so that we can tempt our taste buds with a wide range of flavours - a new one to us is the Bakewell sponge, but the competition is fierce with carrot cake, lemon drizzle cake, victoria sponge and others - a difficult decision to decide which ones to try.

Coopers Farm offers meat from traditional breeds such as Sussex cattle, Gloucester Old Spot pigs and Light Sussex chickens to add to our selection of top-quality meat and poultry.  Coopers are a local producer using traditional farming systems based on organic and sustainable principles.

Cross Country offer a wide variety of produce - locally-baked bread and traditional Sussex cheese in addition to their freshly-picked fruit and vegetables.

These new stallholders complement our existing range of produce and crafts.  Put the fun back into Saturday morning shopping - park for free on the Market Site, browse the stalls, chat to the crafters and producers to learn more about what they do, pack your shopping into the car and finish off with light refreshments in the Market Cafe - all in one place.

Only 10 days to go!

Fresh Local Produce May Include

Welcome to our Market

Hailsham Farmers' Market is "the place" to go for your Saturday morning shopping trip.  Park right on site, browse through the selection of stalls and talk to the people who have brought the goods to market and choose from the wide range of high-quality, local, fresh and traceable produce on offer.  Pack your shopping straight into your car boot and then drop in to the Market Cafe to rest and recover from your exertions.  Take the opportunity to meet up with new and old friends from the local community - all without leaving the Market site.

Hailsham Farmers Produce & Craft Market is an interesting and vibrant event which takes place on the second Saturday of every month on the Cattle Market site near Hailsham town centre. The Farmers' Market boasts a variety of delicious fresh produce and a diverse craft section for those unusual gifts.   You can even buy fruit and vegetable plants raised and supplied by a local nursery for you to "grow your own".

Established almost 20 years ago in 1997, the site occupies the front of the Cattle Market site, hosting a variety of local Farmers, Producers and Crafters.  We have recently added a Boot Fair, which adds to the range of items available at the Market site.

We also enjoy the company of guest charities, including the Hailsham Lions, who do a great deal of hard work to raise funds and help the community in Hailsham and the surrounding area.  Cuckmere Buses use the Market to give volunteers the opportunity to try one of their buses with the aim of becoming a regular driver on the popular local buses.  Many people use the Cuckmere Bus to take them directly from their home in the surrounding area into the centre of Hailsham and deliver them back again after they have had a chance to shop and meet their friends.

Market visitors are able to talk to the Farmers, Producers and Crafters and learn more about the goods on offer - where they come from and how they are made.  We feel it is important to offer high-quality produce with a traceable history.

We offer FREE on-site parking so that you don't have to carry your purchases too far - and you can get refreshments in the Market Café with its traditional Fare.

Hailsham Farmers' Market never cancels - whatever the weather we are here on the second Saturday of every month.
